Black Bloc - Summary of Anti NATO Actions

Summary of black bloc actions in 27 - 28 June

Before NATO summit all the city covered by posters and stickers which were against NATO and also many banners hanged different areas of Istanbul by all leftist groups, parties and anarchists. Main demos started at sunday. Around 60 thousand people walked against NATO in Kadikoy. Black Bloc is around 400 anarchist. It was a peaceful demo. Noone was arrested.

Today first demo was in Mecidiyekoy. 2000 people started to walk from Okmeydeani to Mecidiyekoy at 10:00. This group was formed by leftist and some anarchist. But after a short time police attacked this group with gas bombs and fighting started. Fighting continued till 11:30. many police and activist were injured and many activist arrested here. At the same moment police also attacked to people who were waiting to meet with these people at Mecidikoy.

Black Bloc meet between this two place and just a moment before the walking start police also attack to black bloc. after police attack black bloc went throug to behind area. no one arrested at this attack.

Then black bloc came to taksim area. but also there was a demo which was coordinated by a leftist party (ODP). Police also attacked to this group and some people from black bloc fight against the police. some people from ODP and one anarchist were arested here.

After this demo black bloc came together at Galatasaray Square and 2 (one of them is an anarchist) made their declaration about total objection.

Now, there are many demos at different parts of red zone. Demos will continue at night and tomorrow too.
